First Aid Guide

Step-by-step emergency procedures

Call 112 — 112
  1. 1Check the scene is safe, then check the person for responsiveness.
  2. 2Call 112 (or 911) immediately or ask someone else to call.
  3. 3Place the person on their back on a firm, flat surface.
  4. 4Place the heel of one hand on the center of the chest, between the nipples.
  5. 5Place your other hand on top and interlock fingers.
  6. 6Push hard and fast: 5-6 cm deep, 100-120 compressions per minute.
  7. 7After 30 compressions, tilt the head back, lift the chin, give 2 rescue breaths.
  8. 8Continue 30:2 ratio until help arrives or the person recovers.

If you are not trained in rescue breaths, do compression-only CPR.

This guide does not replace professional first aid training. We recommend taking a certified first aid course.
